What is today's date?

According to my calendar today is October 29, 2008. Halloween is in two days. So my question is this

WHY, OH WHY ARE ALL THE CHRISTMAS DISPLAYS UP????????

Give me a break. I would like to finish one holiday before having the next one shoved down my throat. Last time I checked there was another holiday between Halloween and Christmas, it is called Thanksgiving. Can I have time to celebrate that one? I would be ok with the Christmas stuff going up November 1st. Just not before Halloween!
