Things have been crazy this year and I haven't posted here for quite a long time. If you have been waiting for me, I apologize.
I have changed my comments to moderated. I feel this is necessary after events from earlier in the year. I don't want to make the blog locked except for members, but that may be my next step. I don't like the idea of people who used to be my friend reading about the going ons in my life. That is another reason for my not updating for so long.

Bon Appetite, I think...
Emmy has a phrase she tells the dog every night when she feeds her. After filling her bowl she tells the dog, "Bone up and eat!!"
I don't have the heart to tell her that she is saying it wrong. I have also instructed her brothers to keep their mouth shut! There isn't much she says wrong anymore and I think it is darling. She can't say breakfast correctly either. I think she says it bre-fast. She skips the K sound.
Em was in speech for a year and made HUGE improvement. She only went once a week and only during the school year. Considering she had a 2% funcutionality when she started, she did amazing.

School is back in session!
I have to admit it, buying a Wii wasn't a horrible idea. The kids have stayed occupied for the majority of the holiday break AND they got along for the most part!! From when school got out until Christmas was filled with hours and hours in the snow (we got hit with storm after storm) and getting ready for the holiday. Everyone was very excited about Christmas this year.
Emmy made presents for everyone in her family this year. They were all created with paper and tape. Some were made with yarn too. Matt got a lovely pink tree cut out of construction paper with a loop of yarn at the top. It had multiple uses, first it was an ornament BUT just wait!! when the holiday was over it could be used as a bookmark. Matt wasn't nearly as excited as Emmy when he opened the gift. Emmy also wrapped everything in layers and layers of wrapping paper. I got a couple of pictures but I can only remember one. Huge lips drawn on green paper and the word kiss. Em then gave me a million kisses because you can't wrap kisses. I don't remember what any of her other gifts were, but I do know they were straight from the heart.
So the holidays were great. Until two days before school started. And then the gloves came off. Drew looked at Matt who breathed on Emily who was in the same room as Drew, and he could SMELL HER!!! Or something similar. And those were the offenses that didn't involve not sharing games, tv time, snow shovels or touching something that may or may not belong to someone else. It has been cold enough that the 12 pack of coke on the porch froze and exploded. That is the only reason I didn't make them all go live in the garage. The last one standing would be allowed to finish any homework before going back to school today. But the freezing temps foiled my plans for revenge. So I had to resort to pulling out my referee shirt and time outs.
Today they all returned to school. And I went back to sleep. And enjoyed every quiet moment.

Happy New Year!
I'm not one for huge new year resolutions. If you need to wait until you put up the new calendar to make those needed changes in your life they aren't going to happen!! I generally need a little more motivation (or coersion) to make the necessary adjustments to make life easier.
When I decided to join the gym I knew I was fat. I had known it for months. I weighed more than I had ever weighed when I was pregnant. I joined the gym and started my new lifestyle (it isn't a diet) the day before Thanksgiving. I told myself that I could find several excuses that would lead me up to July so it was now or never.
More recently I have been having problems with my moods. It was a mild problem before my grandmother passed away and some where in my grief it changed to drastic. So I went into my Dr. (I did have a sinus infection that was making breathing painful) and told him what I thought was going on. He agreed, put me on a new medicine and two weeks later I'm feeling like a new woman. Cross your fingers that it continues to be the miracle that it has been so far.
We are trying to get a chore chart of sorts going around our house. Things are going so-so with the kids home on winter break. I'm hoping that getting back to a regular schedule will help the kids remember to do their jobs.
So if you have a laundry list of "to do's" pick one or two and attack them. YOU CAN DO IT!! Don't make yourself crazy and set yourself up fail by making a list of 18 things that are major adjustments to your life. Best of luck in your decisions.
