The Important Book, an early Mother's Day present

My daughter has a wonderful kindergarten teacher. She loves teaching and it shows. The class makes books a couple of times a month where they all do a page on the same topic. They have a my mom..., my dad..., my family..., etc. The teacher puts them out at parent teacher conference for everyone to look at. Some books go home with the students though. They get to share them with their family and then they bring them back the next school day.

Today The Princess brought home The Important Book. It is an adaption of the book of the same title written by Margaret Wise Brown. I couldn't have asked for a more special Mother's Day present. The best part is that she doesn't have any idea what she has done. It is just Emily being Emily.

Here is her page:

The important thing about Emily is that sometimes her mom calls her "cutie" because she's so cute all the time.

She likes to be with her mommy. She likes to go swimming and sledding. She likes snowboarding and ice skating. Winter is her favorite season. She went ice skating for the first time when she was three years old. She has five people in her family. She also has a dog name Jill.

But the important thing about Emily is that sometimes her mom calls her "cutie."

It makes my heart ache to know that this little girl loves me so much. There are days that I doubt my parenting. Then there are days where I get a little reassurance that I'm doing a good job.
