September 10, 2008

Wednesday September 10, 2008 will always be a very special day in our family. It is the day that my Canadian husband became an American!

It was a long day. We were told to be there at noon. We were not told that the ceremony didn't start until 2 pm. That is a long time for three children to sit in their seats and behave, esp. when they are 12, 10 and 6. Even more difficult when they didn't eat lunch before because no one thought it was going to take all afternoon. We took them out and fed them well as soon as it was all over.

But in the end the ceremony happened and 750 people were sworn in as citizens of The United States of America. My husband was in the second group of people to be sworn in that day so a total of 1500 people started a new life yesterday.
